Healthy body, healthy Mind.
Studies have shown that people who are more physically active have more positive emotions and higher levels of self-esteem, and that regular aerobic exercise increases positive moods. Physical activity can enable people with severe mental health problems, such as schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder, to enjoy a better quality of life, by providing a sense of purpose and control.
Mind provides help and support directly to those who need it most and their network of more than 140 local Minds offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support. They believe everyone with a mental health problem should be able to access excellent care and services and they won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.
