Sustainability Policy

Here at Runr, it's really important to us that we aim to be as sustainable as we can in running our business.

When it comes to sourcing materials for new products, we want to use as little raw materials as possible and reuse as much as we can when it comes to the production of our products.

Where possible, we use 100% organic cotton materials in our hoodies and t-shirts.

Why Organic Cotton?

Organic cotton has several benefits in the way it is farmed and grown. From not using hazardous pesticides that pollute water ways, to using healthier soil that retains more rain water. These are just two examples of why it is better than other cotton.

Check out our Organic Cotton range here to see which products meet these standards.

Many of our popular products are made from recycled materials.

Why Use Recycled Materials?

There are several reasons for reusing materials instead of creating new ones.

Reducing the demand for raw materials is really important to us. The disruption caused when extracting raw materials can be devastating to wild habitats with forests, wildlife and waterways all being affected.

Using recycled materials requires a lot less energy than making them from new raw materials. Both cotton and polyester, including plastic bottles, can be recycled in the world of clothing to produce brand new garments.

The reduction in energy being used also leads to much fewer carbon emissions being created. Carbon emissions are harming for the atmosphere adding to an increase in global warming, so reducing these emissions is vitally important.

Many of our jumpers and t-shirts are made from 100% recycled materials, including recycled plastic bottles, and we're striving to increase the percentage of our products made in this way.

Bamboo is a highly sustainable plant and very fast growing. It requires little maintenance and doesn't need any fertilisers or pesticides in order for it to grow.

One secret fact about bamboo is that it produces up to 40% more oxygen than an equivalent tree mass, whilst it also absorbs huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, another positive in the fight against global warming.

Check out our range of products made from bamboo here.

Keep an eye out for our Sustainability badges on our products. These showcase the thought behind the product and you'll see the number of products growing over the coming weeks and months.
